Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater adds two new shows to its lineup

Rockwell Center’s new cultural crown jewel, the Proscenium Theater, has quickly established itself as one of Metro Manila’s most anticipated performance venues. Opening its doors on September 26 with The Bodyguard The Musical by 9 Works Theatrical, the theater immediately captivated audiences with its compelling mix of music, choreography, and storytelling. The production, which continues to run until October, has earned glowing praise for its stellar cast and world-class staging—an impressive start for Rockwell’s newest landmark.

More than a venue, the Proscenium Theater is envisioned as a hub for artistry and shared experiences. Within its first quarter alone, Rockwell is presenting three major productions, signaling its strong commitment to making culture and performance part of the community’s everyday life. With its elegant architecture and finely tuned acoustics, the theater sets the stage for exceptional productions and reaffirms Rockwell’s place at the intersection of lifestyle and the arts.

The Maestro returns to Rockwell

This November 14 and 15, Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater welcomes National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab for its first-ever concert offering, the MaestroClass Concert Series. A long-time friend of Rockwell, Cayabyab has graced many of its celebrations over the years. His debut at the Proscenium marks the beginning of a concert series that will feature distinct themes and collaborations with some of the country’s finest musicians. With the theater’s Steinway pianos and pristine acoustics as his instruments, Cayabyab promises a musical experience that celebrates Filipino artistry at its most refined.

A holiday classic takes center stage

Every year, Rockwell Center transforms into a radiant holiday haven—its Christmas tree lighting, sparkling décor, and festive charm have become synonymous with the season. This 2025, Rockwell extends that magic to the Proscenium stage with A Christmas Carol, a heartwarming Broadway musical produced by 9 Works Theatrical. Directed by Robbie Guevara, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Ahrens, the production reimagines Charles Dickens’ classic tale of redemption and joy through unforgettable songs and spectacular staging.

Running from November to December 2025, A Christmas Carol will conclude the theater’s inaugural lineup—a fitting finale to a year that has seen Rockwell evolve into a cultural destination. As the beloved story of Ebenezer Scrooge unfolds, audiences can expect to rediscover the warmth, generosity, and spirit that define Rockwell’s Christmas tradition.

The curtain rises on Rockwell’s cultural journey

With The Bodyguard, MaestroClass, and A Christmas Carol, Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater begins its journey with a strong, diverse lineup that showcases Filipino creativity and global-quality production. Each performance affirms Rockwell’s vision to nurture a thriving cultural community where art, music, and storytelling take center stage.

The Proscenium Theater’s debut season is just the beginning of a new chapter for Rockwell—a place where audiences will continue to be inspired, entertained, and connected through the transformative power of live performance.
