Finestra and Yakumi offer distinct dining at Solaire Resort North

Two of Solaire Resort North’s signature restaurants, Finestra and Yakumi, are joining forces for the first time to present “The Code of Umami,” a one-night-only four-hands dinner happening on October 17 at Finestra. The event promises a rare showcase of Italian soul and Japanese precision, brought to life through the creative collaboration of two acclaimed chefs.

Chef Joel Manchia of Finestra and Chef Cristian Asato of Yakumi will lead the evening with a six-course tasting menu that bridges two culinary worlds. Each dish is designed to express harmony through contrast, with flavors that tell a story of technique, culture, and artistry. Priced at ₱4,988++ per person with an optional wine and sake pairing for ₱1,888++, the dinner marks a refined encounter between European warmth and Asian elegance.

Chef Joel Manchia, Finestra’s Chef de Cuisine, brings more than two decades of international experience across the Four Seasons in Houston, London, Beijing, and Hampshire, and at The Ivy Asia in Brighton. His leadership at Finestra reflects both global sophistication and a genuine passion for crafting memorable dining experiences.

At Yakumi, Chef Cristian Asato draws from his Japanese roots and mastery of Nikkei cuisine—a culinary language born of Japanese and Peruvian influences. His career spans training in Lima and Tokyo, and leadership roles at Mandarin Oriental, The Alpina Gstaad, and Soneva in the Maldives. At Solaire Resort North, he continues to elevate traditional techniques with a contemporary, soulful touch.

The Code of Umami is not a recurring feature but a one-night engagement created for those who seek something exceptional. It stands as a celebration of culinary identity and creative synergy—an invitation to savor the meeting point between two distinct gastronomic philosophies.
